Summer Collection 2014 Photo Shoot

New summer items are almost here! This weekend I had such a great time at the photo shoot for the new Calypte Collection  pieces that will be launching over the next week.  My beautiful friend from arlington blue photography modeled the summer collection and I wanted to share are a few photos with you from the shoot. Enjoy!!

Happy Earthday!

Happy earthday everyone! I'm so glad that we have a holiday that reminds us to be kind to our planet, to use and reuse as much as we can.

There are many ways to indulge in what the world has to offer and still be an earth friendly participant. Here at Calypte Collection we love nature and the planet and want to help as we can to keep things green. 

All of our leather jewelry is Eco friendly in that the colors are achieved using non harmful dyes free of lead and other nasty chemicals. 

Also, your jewelry pieces are carefully and lovingly wrapped in biodegradable, recycleable materials as much as possible.

THINGS ARE POPPIN' UP!

Last month Calypte Collection had the opportunity to partner with XCVI Fashion in their Thousand Oaks pop-up.  XCVI is a beautiful clothing line with a Boho Chic esthetic. Several of the Bohemian Chic pieces of the CC jewelry line where available along with several other talented local artisans.

 The pop-up was such a success that CC is heading up north with XCVI to Santa Barbara at the new pop-up location! I'm so excited to have the jewelry line in SB, a beautiful artsy beach town, where the sun shines 300 days a year!

Weekend Food Truck Fun

Food trucks have been all the rage here on the west coast.  Gone are the days when food truck meant the white van  that stops outside your work for 10 minutes when the noon bell has rung.  I could not be more then thrilled that truly tasty, handmade, gourmet, food from wonderful down-to-earth entrepreneurs travel the streets all the time!!  What's even better is when they all congregate in a central location and call it a festival!!!

Here I have just enjoyed scrumptious bites from all kinds of unique food vendors! My favorite was the chocolate covered strawberry ice cream on top of the best I've ever had waffle!!

I chose to wear my latest chunky chain necklace creation that I like to call THE LYNX a totally versatile and fun necklace! I colorblocked two different shapes of chunky chain in monochromatic colors  to make one continuous infinity necklace. An interesting and fun twist on ombre!

What was your favorite food when you were a child?

My all time favorite food, I would have to say was and is my mom's tacos. I'm sure mostly for nostalgic reasons now but they are the best!  Handmade taco shells, cilantro, tomatoes I don't know what it is, simple ingredients amazing flavor.  

2. What do you want to be when you grow up?

Oh my gosh, what don't I want to be? I have so many interests; painting, knitting, photography, psychology, dog grooming, canine chiropractics, chef,  food critic, party planner...i could go on forever I'm sure.  I would have to say though that the first thing that came to mind was, World Traveler!!!  Doesn't that sound amazing!  That's a profession, right?

3. Do you have any pets?

Of course I had to put this one in here!  How could I be a proud parent and not talk about my "kids!"  I have two miniature schnauzers, Jasper and Koa!  

 4. What is a typical day for me like?

I am a Wildlife Biologist by day and Jewelry Designer by night!   The glamorous part of my day job is getting to be outdoors in a variety of habitats that allow me the opportunity to see amazing wildlife!  Pics say it best, see below.  By night I work on my jewelry line, Calypte Collection.  Visit my shop here on Etsy!!

IT'S BLACK & IT'S WHITE

Spring is just around the corner, especially if you live in Southern California, and I am soo happy that black and white is in for spring.  I love pairing black, silver and white together which is the inspiration for a lot of my jewelry.  My black and white blouse and black pencil skirt is from Banana Republic, shoes are Tom's in black glitter, jewelry is new to my shop on Etsy!
