A Little Weekend DIY

I had so much fun this weekend! My bestie and I got to hang out with Chelsea from Lovely Indeed and Kelly from Studio DIY. We hung out at West Elm LA for a little geometric garland creation fun.

 Have you heard of a Cronut? Well let me tell you! A croissant-donuts hybrid, what could be better? Croissants are amazing and I have a weakness for donuts so the marriage of the two is like a gift from heaven! 

We meet some really fun people at the event. Blogger Jaime from Paint The Gown Red, Christina from Cascadehermann, and Andrea from Legal Miss Sunshine.

I just love makers, crafters, DIYers! Look how talented they are, our gifts (just for attending) were packaged so cutely we didnt want to open them. Ha!

We had such a blast! I'm excited to attend more event in the future!  This event was posted through Skillshare, a very cool site where you can meet and learn and do with fellow makers. Bright Sun Shiny Day

Summer and the beautiful sunshine are here! My dream temperature is 75 degrees so i am loving this early summer weather! I've been bursting with creativity lately and I've added a few new items to the shop that I want to share with you!  Check out the new pieces below, I love how perfect these pieces are to give your outfit that finished look!

Pretty In Pink

So I've never been one to embrace the color pink. I've even gone so far as to use the word HATE! Gasp!! As time goes on however, I find that I'm more often drawn to deep pinks and almost purple shades. 

I've racked my brain, searched deep and thought long about why. I'm actually not an over analyzer by any means (ya right). I've decided however to ditch the why and just go with it. 

As hard and weird feeling as this is to say, I like pink!!!

I do realize that a lot of these are actually purple but at least I'm on my way to pink, right?

REDESIGN ::IN PROGRESS::

I am very, particular, when it comes to home decor (and spending money), I have to really, really like something to buy it and then I keep the tags on, just in case!  I live in a craftsman style house that I am attempting to re-decorate. 

My plan is to swap this not-so-flattering blue recliner (yuk)....

with a beautiful more modern accent chair like this....

Also, this coffee table has got to go!!

I'd love to replace it with something like this wonderfully simple and modern box frame coffee table also from West Elm (unfortunately it's currently on back order 'till March!)

One of my favorite things to do is take my dogs to the beach. I love to see how much carefree fun they are having!! So many new smells and long stretches of sand to run and play on. They have such a great time!!

ORLA KIELY IN THE HOUSE

I first fell in love with the designer Orla Kiely when I saw her mugs in a cute little shop in a Scottish village on the Isle of Skye and now I am so excited that more of her designs are popping up here in the States!!!!

I stumbled upon these Method hand soap dispensers at Target! 

I found her bedding at Bed Bath and Beyond, however they were all out of stock : ( I want this in white!!!

WINTER DRY SKIN REMEDY

This winter weather had made my skin so dry! It seems like my hands have never been as dry as they have been recently. I'm a chemical free kinda gal and I look to nature and clean non toxic kinds of products as much as I can. I've been applying coconut oil and Shea butter to no avail but thankfully I figured out a solution to my dry skin woes that I want to share with you! This nightly routine has has really saved my skin!

Directions:
Step 1:: Melt 2 tbs coconut oil until is runny and while still slightly warm apply to your hands.

Step 2:: wear cotton gloves overnight to seal in moisture

Step 3:: wake up with super soft, moisturized skin!!

During the day, I swear by my favorite hand cream by Weleda. It has a wonderful citrus herbal scent that is wonderful. I apply in small amounts, directly after hand washing, focusing on the cuticle area first.
 

CENTRAL COAST

My family and I visited the central coast of California for Christmas this year! We decided to treat ourselves to a dog friendly beachfront resort in Monterrey. The drive up the coast was full of beautiful sites with my favorite being the shoreline full of elephant seals and their babies!!!

Visiting the seals was so much fun, unfortunately we couldn't stay long cause it started pouring rain! It was a awesome to see these beautiful creatures and see how they interact with each other. I can't wait to go back!

HAPPY 2013

What a wonderful year 2012 was! An intense one full of new beginnings,taking chances and living life to its fullest! Thank you all for your support and help making last year amazing!

I'm not one for resolutions but I do want to share five goals I have for the new year:

1) take risks and breathe

2) continue on a path of health and wellness

3) be better organized and eliminate clutter

4) travel more

5) surround myself with the people and the things i love
